Big Fish in Little Pond

I met Simone Skinner back in October 2021. Six months later I would find myself directing an episode of her television show. During the course of Nittany Talk’s first season I gradually ascended the program’s hierarchy. Initially the technical director position was exclusive to network-affiliated lab attendants. I openly expressed interest in the role, which catapulted me into the realm of the executive board. Fast forward to April and I had the honor of directing our season’s penultimate episode.

This episode has since served as a benchmark for how far I’ve come in my craft. This episode’s visuals are quite robotic - repetitive, stale in composition. I was more focused on preventing mistakes than I was creating interesting shots. I had yet to implement a dynamic protocol. Of course everybody has to start somewhere, and this episode was no different in producing the same level of thrills and satisfaction that I currently derive from this program.
