Learning and growing each production

Ill-fated framing from the “Talk or Dab” segment. Since this episode I have always coordinated appropriate camera cues between the talent and camera personnel to prevent such unprepared compositions from plaguing our productions.

The follow-up to my favorite episode was plagued by overconfidence. I put less effort into prepping for this episode, which proved to bite me in the end. The video for the Kid Laroi segment failed to render during our initial livestream, the framing for the Men’s Fashion segment was totally improvised, and the charming “Talk or Dab” was obliterated by my sloppy direction. I failed to keep up with the talent, and the episode suffered because of that.

Every production teaches me a valuable lesson about the types of habits I should be employing as a leader. This production especially stood out to me as a pivotal example to not allow my ego cloud my work ethic. It’s quite fortunate that I experienced these pitfalls, as our remaining episodes vastly improved on the technical front, due to my increased preparation.
