What is THON?
THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. For over fifty years they have raised millions to support families affected by childhood cancer. Several fundraising events are hosted by THON throughout the year including their annual 5K, Family Carnival, and of course - THON Weekend.
Bringing THON into the homes of tens of thousands on a global basis
Since August 2022 I’ve been a live production unit producer for 46LIVE, a student-run organization which aims to bring the heart of THON into the homes of those who are unable to attend the event in-person. With THON’s network becoming increasingly globalized, our forty-six hour livestream is pivotal in amassing the millions of donations that’re poured into THON each year.
My responsibilities as a live production unit producer include directing our livestreams, supervising our crew, hosting workshop trainings, and troubleshooting our equipment to ensure it excels in quality. We also extensively collaborate with THON to match their standards of excellence, while emphasizing their family-friendly reputation.
Of the $15 million raised in THON '23, $1 million of the donations were submitted through our livestream.

100 Days 'Til THON is an annual event held in the BJC. Technically speaking it's usually one of our more challenging shoots due to the limited space available. Pulling it off is always a triumphant moment!
